U.K. here I come !!!

I'm excited right now. I have been finding myself thinking about WEAVING lately. It all started about 5 nights ago when I was taking a soak in the tub. Letting my mind go into the creative space where any thing is possible. I looked at the Romanian hemp bath mat that Ashley originally made as a curtian back at Ambatalia. I remade it into a bath mat. Ashley wasn't known for her sewing skills, but that is actually what made me love it so. She used red thread , folded over once and sewed the ------ out of the edges. I took it, folded it, becoming two sided and sewed wildly around the other edges and Walla. It couldn't be more perfect.
I have been thinking about weaving for a while. Im always looking for inspiration pulling little bits from all over the place. Plain cloth is my favorite. I started picturing plain linen, random stripe's in different colors. I do That now on the Romanian hemp with the machine. Or maybe even 3/4 of the towel in a sold color with natural. It all went flying around my head, my heart pounding with satisfaction of the possibility of doing something modern with the integrity of the crafts people of our past. The next 4 or 5 days I had looked up every thing that had to do with weaving, and looms. Then 5 minutes ago I click on selvedge, cause I get thier email and I found Alison Morton. I found my inspiration for the next faze of my life. I wonder if she will let me be the shop clean up girl. How do I get over there. What would I do with my kids? I better get started on that back strap loom. Please when you go to her site, check out how she did her textile tours. The woman of my dreams!!!! I will shut up now....

I just looked her up Molly and love her weaving - it is so pure!

I dream of keeping Wensleydale sheep and learn to spin; there are several Wensleydale sheep farmers around Sacramento. For the moment, I'm happy sewing, but there is such an urge to dive farther and farther back into the process.
